The Federal Government has said its ongoing economic reforms will create the fiscal and economic conditions needed to facilitate the delivery of more development projects across Nigerian states.
The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr Taiwo Oyedele, said this while speaking during his visit to governor Bala Mohammed Monday in Bauchi on the Federal Government’s economic reform agenda and its expected impact on development across the country.
Oyedele said the reforms were aimed at stabilising the economy, strengthening public finances, restoring investor confidence and creating an environment conducive to sustainable economic growth.
He explained that the reforms were not designed merely to improve economic indicators, but to translate into tangible benefits for Nigerians through increased investment and improved delivery of essential services.
The minister said stronger collaboration between the Federal Government and state governments would be critical to ensuring that the gains from the reforms were converted into infrastructure, healthcare, education and other development projects.
He noted that states remained important partners in the implementation of national economic policies, particularly in areas that directly affect the welfare and living conditions of citizens.
The Cordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate, who also spoke highlighted the importance of Federal-State collaboration in delivering critical infrastructure.
Pate described the diagnostic centre as an example of what could be achieved when the Federal and state governments worked together towards improving healthcare delivery.
He commended Governor Bala Mohammed for his support for the project from its inception to completion.
Pate also praised Bauchi State for its contributions to national development, particularly in the areas of agriculture, security and human capital development.
He said sustained collaboration between the Federal Government and Bauchi State would help ensure that national economic reforms translated into concrete improvements in the lives of citizens.
The minister assured that the Federal Government would continue to partner with Bauchi and other states in implementing programmes and policies aimed at promoting economic growth and improving public services.
He also expressed appreciation to Governor Mohammed and the people of Bauchi State for the warm reception accorded him during his visit.
